Community Services Block Grant and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provided the District of Columbia with a one-time, Stimulus Fund grant for the purpose of creating jobs and generating sustainable economic activity.  The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) office administers these Stimulus Funds in a manner that meets the short-term and long-term economic and employment needs of individuals, families and communities, consistent with CSBG Program objectives. Through its city-wide network of organizations participating in ARRA-related activities, the CBSG office provides a wide range of innovative services tailored to the specific needs of the eligible population, including: securing and maintaining employment; securing adequate education; improving income management; securing adequate housing; providing emergency services; and improving nutrition.

To view and/or apply for jobs created using CSBG/ARRA funds, please visit the DC Networks One-stop Career System website.

Eligibility: Low-income District of Columbia residents.

For more information, call (202) 698-4301, or visit the CSBG Program Office at 645 H Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002.
