In order to sign up for the District’s Permanent Supportive Housing program District residents must complete a Permanent Supportive Housing assessment. Assessments can be completed at any homeless shelter in the District of Columbia.
To date the Districts’ Permanent Supportive Housing program has housed 427 individuals and 34 families. In 2009, the number of unsheltered people in the District decreased by nearly 15 percent, an unprecedented year-to-year reduction.
